Must See: Patrick Kane Proves To Still Be Best Playmaker In The League

BY JARED
Patrick Kane has had a rollercoaster type of season up to this point. He's had incredibly hot stretches where he's looked like the Patrick Kane that won the Conn Smythe trophy in 2013.

While Kane is on pace to fall below his lowest goal total since the COVID-19 shortened season, he has been playing much better hockey lately and is starting to look like the Patrick Kane of old. During Thursday night's game in Calgary against the Flames, Kane made two jaw-dropping passes to set up his teammates with a beautiful look to score.

In this play, Kane throws a beautiful backhand saucer pass from the middle of the circle through traffic to set up an A+ scoring chance for Andreas Athanasiou. The goaltender stood tall and was able to get a piece of the shot and send it just wide.

The Blackhawks wouldn't let another scoring chance set up by Kane go to waste again. With only minutes to go in the 2nd period, Kane set up Jason Dickinson with another backhand sauces pass that led to a partial breakaway in the offensive zone. Dickinson didn't miss and Kane added another point to the stat sheet.

While Patrick Kane may not be scoring at the rate like we're all used to, he still is making plays like these on a nightly basis. Last night Kane proved yet again why he's a commodity in this league that any team would be lucky to have.
