The Chicago Blackhawks are alongside every other NHL franchise who currently have just a couple days to submit their final 23-man roster for opening night. Most teams still need to make 20+ cuts, and the Blackhawks are one of them.

The Chicago Blackhawks announced two waives of cuts, one of two players and another one of several skaters.

We will start with the second waive, which was more important news than the first. The Blackhawks have returned Kevin Korchinski and Sam Savoie to their junior teams and assigned Arvid Soderblom to AHL's Rockford IceHogs.

Korchinski is who the Blackhawks drafted with the pick they got from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Alex DeBrincat, the defensemen showed excellent poise and puck possession skills throughout his very few first NHL games.

Sam Savoie gained a name for himself as the ‘'next Andrew Shaw'' with his grittiness at all times, and his enthusiastic energy.

The first waive of cuts did not catch many by surprise:

Jaxson Stauber
Adam Clendening
Dylan Wells
Nolan Allan
Ethan Del Mastro

The Blackhawks are just 9 days away from opening night where they take on the defending cup champs, the Colorado avalanche.
