Former Hawks superstar passes another milestone

When Patrick Kane's name was mentioned before his draft date, many scouts and many general managers had their eyes on him and wanted the chance to draft him.

When his time came in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft going first round first overall he quietly netted 72 points in his first season with the Blackhawks.

For the following 16 years, he accumulated many accolades such as 3 Stanley cups, many 85 to 100-point seasons, and a Hart and Conn Smythe Trophy. Now in the twilight of his career, he has surpassed another milestone.




Being second overall in all-time points as an American-born player in the NHL is a pretty amazing accomplishment. It remains to be seen if he can catch Mike Modano who holds the record of 1374.

Barring any major injuries to Kane, and only being 34 years of age Kane should pass Modano and become the all-time points-getter for American-born players.

Kane has played twelve games for the Rangers, has four goals with four assists and eight points and is a plus-one.

There has been no indication as to what Kane will do come to the offseason because he will be an unrestricted free agent.
