Alex DeBrincat is currently signed to a 3-year $6,400,000 deal which he signed back in the 2020-21 season with the Chicago Blackhawks and is a pending RFA after this year. The Ottawa Senators acquired DeBrincat during the offseason at the NHL draft last year for their first and second round pick during thew 2022 draft and their third-round pick in the 2024 draft.

Obviously, Ottawa has been going through a rebuild and picked up big pieces like DeBrincat and Claude Giroux. Also getting good Develpoment out of their prospects like Stutzle, Tkachuk, Batherson Sanderson and Pinto, the Senators look to be a contender in the next couple years, and you have to think that DeBrincat would play a massive roll for the Senators in the future.

Friedman on TJMS was asked if the Ottawa Senators and DeBrincat have started to talk about a contract extension to which he said, "periodically I've checked in on this and I've just heard that no real substantive talks have begun".

DeBrincat 25 currently sits 5th on the team in scoring with a stat line of 15-24-39 in 47 games played with the senators this year.
