Corey Perry leaving the organization to join former Blackhawks on contending team?

The Chicago Blackhawks have benefited from the contributions of Corey Perry both on and off the ice.

In 16 games this season, Perry has scored 4 goals and recorded 9 points. He is only signed for this season therefore, he is an ideal rental candidate for contenders.

Many teams want Perry as a leader because of his experience as a veteran, as well as his playoff experience.




In fact, two teams are interested in Corey Perry, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, where his nemesis, Ryan Reaves, currently plays. As the team looks to contend and needs offensive fourth liners, Perry would be a great addition to their 4th line.

It is quite possible that Perry will follow Max Domi and Jake McCabe to the Toronto Maple Leafs, if Kyle Davidson uses the connections he's built there already.

Perry would, of course, be the next target for the New York Rangers, who are looking for a better bottom-six option. Having Perry on Broadway would be a huge treat for the Rangers, and his ability to play in the net during power plays would be an added bonus.
