Chicago Blackhawks Have Signed Top Prospect
The Chicago Blackhawks haven't made very many good decisions of late but this actually might be one of them.
As the Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson have locked up their top draft pick from last month's NHL Entry Draft Kevin Korchinski to his three-year entry-level contract with a $950K salary cap hit. He was drafted using the 7th overall pick, which was traded for Alex DeBrincat, meaning Korchinski sure has high hopes.Korchinski is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed defenceman, who registered 65 points four goals, 61 assists in 67 games last season for the WHL Seattle Thunderbirds.
«Signing Kevin is an exciting moment and another step in us building organizational depth,» Blackhawks' general manager Kyle Davidson said in a release. «We knew that we wanted Kevin to be a big part of this team's future, so we're happy to have him within our system, developing in this early part of his professional career. His confidence and positive attitude paired with his size will be assets as he continues to grow his game in the WHL this upcoming season.»
