BLACKHAWKS SURPRISE TEAM AFFECTED BY TRAGEDY

SEP 20, 2022  (1H23)      JAMES
Cheering members of the Chicago Blackhawks organization welcomed the Highland Park high school hockey team to the Fifth Third Arena Community Ice Rink, the Chicago Blackhawks practice facility, Monday.

«We understand the trying times that you've gone through,» said Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson, who was among the welcoming party along with general manager Kyle Davidson. «We just want to make sure you all know that us — the Blackhawks — we're all with you guys.»

Highland Park was the site of a mass shooting at a parade on July 4 which killed seven people and wounded 48.

After each player changed into their own custom Blackhawks jersey, two Chicago legends — Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane — made their rounds getting to know the team.

Needless to say, it's an experience these kids won't soon forget and hopefully it helps a community keep healing. Very classy move by the Blackhawks organization!
