BREAKING - The Chicago Blackhawks Have Locked up One of Their Top Stars

The Chicago Blackhawks have reportedly signed defender Wyatt Kaiser from the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, CapFriendly reports. The defensemen's season was ended with a loss to St.Cloud State in the NCHC Playoffs on Sunday. Kaiser, who was selected by the Blackhawks in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft, will reportedly join the Blackhawks immediately.  

The contract, which is is 3 years (until the 2024–25 NHL season) will pay Kaiser $917K each season, Kaiser will be paid $80K at the AHL level if he is sent back to the minors at any point throughout the duration of the contract.

2022-23: $808K salary, $93K signing bonus


2023-24: $833K salary, $93K signing bonus, $425K Type 'A' player bonus

2024-25: $833K salary, $93K signing bonus, $425K Type «A' player bonus

Kaiser participated in 97 regular season games for Minnesota-Duluth over the course of the previous three seasons, recording seven goals and 45 assists. With Kaiser on the roster, Minnesota-Duluth was never able to get to the finals after capturing back-to-back national titles in 2018 and 2019. Minnesota-Duluth was eliminated by the eventual winners in 2021 and 2022.
