BREAKING: Patrick Kane Set to Return Home This Summer?

Patrick Kane recently underwent hip surgery and is expected to be out of action for four-to-six months.

The Buffalo Sabres, Kane's hometown team, could be interested in signing him as an unrestricted free agent.

"My thought process is, if there's one team that's going to go out on an absolute limb and sign Patrick Kane sight on scene, esentially, this summer it would probably be the Buffalo Sabres, the hometown team. Maybe you throw a couple million bucks at him when you have tons of salary cap space, clearly for a team going in the right direction." Seravalli said.

"Other than that, I think it's going to come down to Patrick Kane looking in November or December and saying 'these are the teams that are off to a great start, I'd like to go chase a Stanley Cup there' and I think the teams are going to want to see Patrick Kane skating and get a view of that before committing what little cap space they have left to him."

With cap space and a positive direction, the Sabres might take a chance on Kane. However, teams may wait to assess his skating ability before committing. Despite his hip issue, Kane has performed well in recent seasons, and his veteran presence would benefit the young Sabres as they aim for the playoffs.
