BREAKING: Capitals Star Forward Reveals He'd Love to Play For His Home Country

Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom recently expressed his desire to return to Sweden and play for his former club, Brynas IF. Backstrom, 35, began his career with Brynas IF before joining the NHL.

Recently, NHL profiler Jakob Silfverberg, 32, opened up about returning to the parent club , despite the demotion to the Hockey Allsvenskan.
Now Nicklas Bäckström, 35, also answers the same question.

"So, I can't stand here and promise things that will happen in the future. But what I can say is that I have a dream to play in Brynas." Backstrom said.

Despite injury setbacks, he has been a consistent and impactful centerman throughout his NHL tenure, earning him a potential spot in the Hall of Fame.

With 1,032 career points in 1,097 games and a key role in the Capitals' 2018 Stanley Cup win, Backstrom's return to Brynas IF would be a significant move.
