BREAKING: CANUCKS OFFICIALLY FIRE BRUCE BOUDREAU AND NAME NEW COACHING STAFF
BY JARED
Boudreau will be replaced by Rick Tocchet, as he will be the 21st head coach in Canucks franchise history. Assistant coach Trent Cull has also been let go and will be replaced by Adam Foote.
The Canucks handled this entire situation poorly from the start. Boudreau was well liked by both the players and fans alike and was kept in limbo for the last few weeks. The fans gave Boudreau an emotional send off after last night's game, chanting "Bruce there it is".
Tocchet will have some big shoes to fill in Vancouver. Tocchet coached the Avalanche from 2002-2004, the Penguins from 2014-2017, and he Coyotes from 2017-2021. Time will tell how this move plays out for the Canucks, but they should be ashamed by the way they handled this entire situation.
