The Montreal Canadians beat the Chicago Blackhawks in a shootout, 3-2.

1. Silly Mistakes - Chicago was penalized with a too many men on the ice, which was served by Andreas Athanasiou. The bad thing about it; it was in Overtime. You cannot have that happen, especially in Overtime. It takes away so many opportunities. Seth Jones was by far the star of that Penalty Kill.
2. Kirby Dach - Kirby Dach returned to Chicago after being traded to the Montreal Canadians in a 3-way trade in the NHL Draft this year. Kirby didn't work out for the Hawks, but sure is working out for the Habs. Dach scored the game winning goal in the shootout, after being booed out of the building by Blackhawk fans. He then proceeded to taunt them after he scored.
3. Caleb Jones - Was he able to do this all along, or was this a one time thing? My guess is it was a one time thing. Jones sniped one past the goaltender, and which was a beautiful shot, scoring his first goal of the season, boosting his point total to eight (1 goal, 7 assists).
4. Jason Dickinson lays the boom - Jason Dickinson laid a huge hit on this year's first overall puck Juraj Slafkovsky. Juraj didn't have his head up, and Jason took advantage of it. The hit by Dickinson had Slafkovsky down in pain, and started a scrum between both teams.
5. Shootout - This game wasn't settled in Overtime; we needed a Shootout. Arvid Söderblom didn't save a single shot, letting up goals to Montreal's Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Kirby Dach. The only two people to score on Chicago was Jonathan Toews and Andreas Athanasiou. Patrick Kane has been doing this recently; he dangles too long and then fails to lift the puck off the ice, shooting the puck into either the goalies pad or the side of the net. It's also hard to win a shootout if the goalie doesn't make a save.
